Deadlands: No Man's Land
The Lane Ranch
Thomas Lane owns this small ranch on the outside of Fortune Falls. The ranch provides corral and stable services for the town, as well as a good deal of the food. Thomas Lane and his family are well liked in Fortune Falls. He decided to take Finch’s land offer and move his family to the new town in a hope that he could move them out of the growing danger of the Civil War which threatened to swallow up there ranch in Texas. Thomas built a small spread and has about 200 head of cattle. His wife Mary teaches the Sunday school classes at the church. The three children have acclimated well. Megan, the oldest is sort of sweet on new deputy John Crow , one year her senior. Thomas Jr., 12, has taken to his fathers trade and his 9 year old brother David idolizes him. The Lane’s have had trouble with Coyachi’s band of Apache and it has Thomas worried for the safety of his wife and children but so far the indians have just spooked or killed a few cows, keeping a low profile when near town.
